- ISDN phone line costs vary widely by what area of the country you are
- in. Here in Texas (Houston, actually) my ISDN line is $57.70/month
- flat rate, $62 & change including tax. Within Houston's city limits the
- total tax (Fed+state+local) amounts to a whopping 21%. Also ISDN
- service here is flat rate, meaning we pay no usage charges for the line.
- Many areas of the country assess "per-minute" charges.
-
- ISDN is not for the faint of wallet. Total start-up costs average
- around $1000. and per month charges between the phone company and the
- internet service provider run about $100/month. Startup costs can vary
- whether your local telco has a steep installation charge and also depend
-
- on what TA (Terminal adapter) you choose.
-
- I use the USRobotics Courier I-Modem external, which is a combination
- using capable of ISDN as well as conventional analog calls.
-
- I'm very pleased with ISDN performance, but it can get a bit expensive.
